coming to believe - 2026 the year of surrender
One of the hardest times of your life will be the becoming. After the high and the low. The win and the lose. You realize the dream you dreamt wasn’t all you hoped for. The big plan you had, didn’t quite go as intended. It wasn’t for not though. It taught you much. You are changed. You don’t love or hate it. Even if you haven’t fully embraced it. Haven’t made it to a place of acceptance yet.
You feel deep down in your bones that you don’t have a choice. It’s happening without your approval and DESPITE your own will. You wan’t to grasp anything familiar but you can’t find the feeling the familiar once held. It doesn’t give you peace. It is no longer a refuge. When you stop struggling in your own STRENGTH, you come to find that surrender is where your power truly is.
You come to believe.
Some of us wrestle with the concept of God. Some of us have been so self-RELIANT that we aren’t accustom to trusting. But if you are anything like me, in the end, we all cry out “OH MY GOD!”. Even if your concept of a higher power isn’t clear, we all hit a wall so hard sometimes we know we are out of options and in that moment we reach for what is always available to us. In order to become all that you were made for. In order to stand in your purpose, you call out and let go. This is something you can’t do halfway or half hearted. There are two parts. The calling out, like the cry of a child who needs something they can’t get for themselves. Sitting in pain, frustration, sometimes desperation. In order to get that need met, you must also -let go- of the idea that you can get it (find it, achieve it, buy it) for yourself.
You must let go of your own pride, will and determination.
Give it a try. Everything you want and need, is downstream. So if your struggling, gripping, swimming against the current and out of breath, you’re doing it wrong. Choose easy. Choose rest. Choose trust. Choose to believe. As a faith inspired coach, the strategy is best developed at the point of surrender. Because I’m not wrestling with your will, that is a battle you couldn’t pay me to fight. I had to fight that one for myself, many times over, sometimes many times a day and that’s how I know so confidently that it is The Way.
I came to believe…
